Why is exercise good for us? It helps improve the quality of life and prolongs life span. Regular exercise enhances our immune system and makes us more immune to certain types of illnesses. People who exercise regularly, are less likely to get diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, obesity, cancer, etc.
Every year, too many dollars are spent on health care. The truth is, certain illnesses can be prevented from even occurring, thus making the doctor visits and medications unnecessary. Physical activity helps with blood flow, more blood is pumped. A well balanced diet along with exercising 2-4 times a week reduces stress levels and the risk of getting cancer.
Why is exercise good for us? Exercise releases endorphin, a hormone that makes us "happy". We get a natural rush after a good work out. It is often referred to as a "runner's high". That is why people that exercise regularly are generally happier people. Exercising can be addicting once you get started.
Exercising also improves self esteem. It is also an effective treatment for depression (endorphins in action). Depression is often treated with drugs. But drugs cost money and most have side effects. Exercising is free and is good for you. Staying active improves the quality of life. Having more energy means having a fuller life.
Look your best and feel your best. Gain confidence to look in the mirror and actually like what you see! People that take care of their bodies usually have the most confidence. They are not timid at the beach when it comes to showing some skin.
Active senior citizens are less likely to suffer from depression and physical and any mental deterioration is also delayed. Bone and muscle structure deteriorate as we age. And with certain exercise specifically designed for the senior citizens, they can maintain strong bodies up to at least their 90's. Exercising also prolongs longevity.
