Great Ab Exercises For Men With Focus On The Obliques
Most abdominal exercises are suitable to both men and women. There are, however, a few areas men should pay special attention to, for example love handles. Yes, the handles we all love to hate!
Read on to discover three great abdominal exercises for men to help you really tone and flatten your stomach. I've included an exercise that's not really targeted towards your abs, but rather towards general fat burning.
Forget about abs machines: these exercises will really help you to get ripped.
Ab exercise for the obliques
It's been around in martial arts forever, can cause some real hurt if you end up on the wrong side of it, but it also makes for a super little ab exercise.
It's most commonly called the roundhouse kick because of the way it is executed. If you're unlucky enough to have never been involved in any form of martial arts, doing this kick at first might be a challenge, but you just need to take it easy and give your muscles time to get used to the movement. Start out kicking knee height and work up to waist height, where you'll really start kicking your obliques into shape.
Keep at it until you can do a minimum of 50 kicks per leg. You'll find that doing this kick will benefit your body in multiple ways. Take it easy until you're used it though and be sure to stretch properly.
To shred your midsection
Don't worry that this isn't really an abs exercise, it's going to rip that flab right off your waist and make your abs visible.
High intensity sprinting burns fat like few other activities. You can make them even tougher by running uphill or in thick sand. Actively use your arms and shoulders while running. This way you get even more benefits as the swinging motion will help tone and firm your midsection.
Hanging rotates
This may be a fairly tough exercise depending on your fitness level, so work up to it if you can't do it right away. Hang suspended with your arms and legs straight on a pullup bar. Turn your lower body to the left at a 45 degree angle. Bend and lift your knees up against your body, then swing your lower body until it's facing 45 degrees to the other side and lower your legs. Continue the exercise by repeating the knee lift and just swinging back over to the start again, and so on.
To add more difficulty to this when it becomes easy, lift your legs straight out in front of you instead of bending your knees.
These 3 ab exercises for men give you 3 ways to tone your obliques, burn fat and condition your body all in one go.
